On October 5, 2011 Market Mall launched a community initiative called Role Mothers. Role Mothers is a mom-powered resource designed to help families weave the spirit of giving into their daily lives to create future generations of philanthropic Calgarians. The program shares family friendly volunteer opportunities within Calgary available for all age groups and commitment levels, with the assistance of other Role Mothers and partnering organizations. Role Mothers is a great resource of caring moms-on-the-go and a true celebration of Calgary's spirit of giving.

Since 2008, over $85,000 has been donated to Ronald McDonald House® Southern Alberta. Funds were raised through various sponsored events and Market Mall initiated programs which include the annual Breakfast with Santa and proceeds earned from photos taken at Santa’s Playland. Ronald McDonald House® Southern Alberta is a compassionate, safe and affordable home away from home for families whose children are receiving treatment in a local Calgary hospital. The purpose of Ronald McDonald House® Southern Alberta is to keep families together and provide a supportive environment while the family member is being treated for their illness.
In May 2011 Market Mall hosted the Astral Radiothon in support of the Kids Cancer Care Foundation. CJAY92, Virgin 98.5 and AM1060 were all broadcasting live from our centre court and through the stories presented on-air, touched the hearts of Calgarians and encouraged generous donations. This years radiothon surpassed last years total by more than doubling the amount to over $226,000. Way to go Calgary!
Market Mall celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2011, and to celebrate this milestone, played host to the Fancy & Frosted Cake Showcase in support of Ronald McDonald House® Southern Alberta. Over the course of a few days, culinary creations from some of Calgary's best bakers were on display in the centre and guests were able to vote for their favourite cake. Following the competition, an awards ceremony was held in Market Mall’s Centre Court where the property officially became a Corporate Champion of the house when a $40,000 cheque was presented to Ronald McDonald House® Southern Alberta. Market Mall helps bring awareness to the importance of bereavement services by hosting Hospice Calgary's annual Tree of Love campaign. Volunteers accept donations in return for two ornaments. One ornament is placed on the 'Tree of Love' while the other is yours to take home. For over thirty years, Hospice Calgary has been providing compassionate care, support, education and hope to thousands of men, women and children whose lives have been altered by death. Please click on Hospice Calgary for more information.
Market Mall hosts "Wrapping for a Cure", where guests are able to bring their holiday purchases and for a donation of choice, gifts are wrapped. Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is the most common, fatal genetic disease affecting young Canadians. For more information, please click on CF.
In support of the Salvation Army's annual Christmas Kettle Campaign, Market Mall hosts 2 kettle locations within the Centre. The Campaign provides Christmas assistance to 2,475 low-income families.
